The Freeborn County Humane Society will hold a $5 feline event each Friday in October.

All cats and kittens can be adopted for $5 on Oct. 5, 12, 19 or 26. The shelter is full of cats and kittens and taking them in faster than they can be adopted. Staff would like to get animals into forever homes to make preparations for the colder weather. Applications will be required.

There is a large selection of cats and kittens of all colors and sizes. Staff set a goal of adopting 30 felines in October.

The shelter is open from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays and is located at 101 James Ave. Call 377-8501 for more information.
