ST. PAUL — A St. Paul man who pleaded guilty to running over a 6-year-old boy who was running to greet his soldier father at the airport last year has been sentenced to 120 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse.

Sixty-one-year-old Tommy Rodriguez was accused of hitting Zachary Drew with his SUV in the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport parking ramp last December. Rodriguez pleaded guilty last month to a felony count of criminal vehicular operation.

In addition to receiving time in the county workhouse, Rodriguez was also sentenced Friday to 120 hours of community service plus restitution to be determined for the boy’s injuries.
