ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Wild have recalled defenseman Jonas Brodin (YOH’-nuhs BROH’-deen) from their AHL affiliate.

The 19-year-old Brodin had two goals and two assists in nine games with the Houston Aeros. He paired with Clayton Stoner during practice on Thursday and was expected to make his NHL debut at Detroit on Friday.

The 10th overall pick in the 2011 draft is one of several well-regarded prospects in the Wild’s system. Brodin played last season in Sweden’s Elite League. The Wild’s first-round draft pick in 2012, Matthew Dumba, is also on the roster but hasn’t played in a game yet.

Brodin’s arrival gives defenseman Jared Spurgeon more time to heal. He hasn’t practiced since taking a puck off his foot in the game against Nashville on Tuesday.
