I enjoyed reading the 2012 Sports Year in Review; however, I could not help but notice what was missing. For the first time ever, the Albert Lea girls’ cross country team won the Big Nine Conference team championship.

They claimed this title by having four runners in the top 14 and thus named All-Conference, plus two more runners were named honorable mention. Throw out the time of the fastest Albert Lea runner, and this team would have still won the conference title. Now that is a team to remember and celebrate! That will be a team to watch in 2013!
