$4K in guns reportedly taken after burglary

AUSTIN — Police are looking for roughly $4,000 in stolen firearms after a southwest Austin resident reported a burglary early Thursday morning.

A 57-year-old woman reported the break-in at about 7 a.m. Her roommate, a 43-year-old man, is missing a rifle, shotgun and three handguns, including a .233-caliber M4 Bushmaster rifle, a Mossberg 500 shotgun, a .40-caliber Glock 23, a .40-caliber Walther P99 and a .357-caliber EAA Vindicator.

The burglary likely happened late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, police say. The suspect reportedly broke through a glass door.
