In sitting here this weekend watching the Minnesota State Girls’ Basketball Tournament, I couldn’t help but reflect on the past season that the Albert Lea Tiger girls’ basketball team had. It was enjoyable to be with a group of girls that after years of so much frustration had been brought together by coach Lindsey Hugstad-Vaa, which goes to show that quality coaches and teachers make a difference in the way our young people become adults, thereby showing them how to win and lose with respect and that the hard work and dedication pays off.

Coach Lindsey Hugstad-Vaa is definitely a quality person, and I personally hope that she will be here for years to come for all the young men and women at Albert Lea High School.
