What? Snow is in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday?

That’s right. It seems an injustice that snow should fall after an absolutely gorgeous 59-degree Monday. It should be illegal.

Understandably, people cannot govern Mother Nature. The fact is, it is common for snow to fall in April. The average snowfall for Albert Lea in April is 3.1 inches.

Spring is a not merely a season of green grass and sunny skies. It brings violent storms and sometimes 60-degree temperature changes in a single day. It brings beautiful afternoons followed by tornadic evenings. It offers wind gusts that can blow over a tent followed by calm nights. Spring likes to surprise mere mortals.

No, if a person wants reliably sunny weather, try autumn or late summer. Spring, however, is Minnesota weather at its most unpredictable state.

Snow is in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Well, let’s get it over with.
