FARGO, N.D. – Authorities say O.J. Simpson’s former girlfriend has turned herself in after initially failing to report for a 34-day jail sentence on charges of felony burglary and drug possession in a Minnesota case.

Thirty-eight-year-old Christie Prody reported on Saturday, eight days after she was ordered.

Prody had pleaded guilty in May to stealing painkillers from an elderly couple in Moorhead while working as an in-home care assistant.

On July 1, Clay County Judge Steven Cahill denied her request to wait until after the weekend to begin serving because her mother had to work and Prody had no one to care for her 2-year-old daughter.

Prody and Simpson began dating in 1996 after he was acquitted of killing his ex-wife and her friend in Los Angeles.
