ST. PAUL — The coming makeover of the Minnesota Capitol is getting the once-over by top officials.

Gov. Mark Dayton and members of the Capitol Preservation Committee planned to review and discuss schematic designs and the bid process for the upcoming renovation today, which calls for a top-to-bottom spruce-up inside and out. The Legislature approved a critical chunk of financing this spring, so major work is due to start soon.

As part of the years-long project, many tenants of the building are being relocated. And the front lawn and trees in front of the building are being torn up to make room for temporary parking.
