The Albert Lea boys’ soccer team lost 3-1 Thursday at Byron in a non-conference matchup.

The Tigers made one of two penalty kicks in the first half, but Byron pulled away in the second half.

“We’re trying to find our identity right now,” Albert Lea head coach Joe Squires said. “We need to attack and move forward with composure.”

At goalie, the Tigers are looking to produce some depth. They utilized sophomore Foster Otten and senior Nate Hogstad in the net.

“Both keepers played well for us,” Squires said. “Foster started, and Nate made a huge effort to stop the ball.”

Albert Lea has an overall record of 1-2. The Tigers lost to St. Peter 1-0 in the season opener and crushed Stewartville 3-1.
