ST. PAUL — Minnesotans can celebrate the state’s cultural heritage and explore the past during Minnesota Archaeology Week.

The week kicks off Saturday with the two-day Minnesota Archaeology Fair at Fort Snelling State Park. There will be poster and artifact displays, demonstrations of pottery making and canoe rides.

Other fairs, open houses and festivals will be held throughout the state during the week. Minnesotans can tour ancient rock carvings, view salvaged items from Lake Superior shipwrecks or visit a 19th century voyageur trading festival.
