Woman injured in I-35 crash

A 24-year-old North Dakota woman was seriously injured Sunday night after two vehicles collided on Interstate 35 south of the interchange with Interstate 90.

Christina L. Wentzel of Fargo, N.D., was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The report states Wentzel was driving southbound in a 2006 Mazda near a 2011 Nissan Armada, driven by Gerald M. Annis Jr., 47, of Hazelhurst, Wis., when the two vehicles collided.

Wentzel’s vehicle rolled into the median.

Annis was not injured.

The State Patrol indicated both driver’s were wearing their seat belts, and no alcohol was detected.

The crash took place at 8:36 p.m.
