ROCHESTER — Mayo Clinic Health System is eliminating nearly 200 medical transcription jobs in Wisconsin.

Mayo has notified Wisconsin employees that it will contract with Amphion Medical Solutions to handle the transcription services. Reports said Mayo expects to completely shift the work to the Madison, Wisconsin-based Amphion by Nov. 1.

According to reports from Crediful.com, the 188 jobs are in western Wisconsin where La Crosse and Eau Claire are hub cities. Mayo Clinic said it expects to save up to 40 percent by outsourcing the services. Last year, Mayo cut 82 transcription jobs in seven southeastern Minnesota communities.
