Juvenile arrested for throwing knife at stepfather

Albert Lea police arrested a 15-year-old boy Tuesday night for allegedly throwing a 12-inch knife at his stepfather at their house on the 1300 block of St. John Avenue.

No one was injured, and the knife reportedly went into the wall six feet away from the stepfather.

Police stated the argument stemmed from the stepfather saying he was going to ground the teenager for not attending school.

The teenager was arrested on a charge of domestic assault, along with a fourth-degree assault on a police officer charge after he allegedly spit in an officer’s face. He was transported to a juvenile detention facility in Red Wing.

 

Man arrested for DWI 2 times in 1 day

Albert Lea police arrested an Albert Lea man twice on Tuesday for driving while intoxicated.

Leslie Kent Lorentzen, 67, was arrested first for third-degree DWI after a traffic crash at 11:49 a.m. at 719 Marshall St. He was arrested the second time at 3:56 p.m. for second-degree driving while intoxicated and open bottle violation at 1820 Margaretha Ave.

 

Man arrested for motor vehicle theft, DWI

Albert Lea police arrested Bradyn Thomas Ellingson, 19, of Minneapolis for theft of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree driving while intoxicated, fleeing on foot, obstructing the legal process, giving false information to a police officer and an instruction permit violation after a traffic stop at 2:17 a.m. today on the 1300 block of Poplar Avenue. Ellingson was reportedly in a 1993 Dodge Dakota.
