The Book of Luke in the King James Bible describes John the Baptist: “He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.”

Between the low gas prices, essentially full employment, and the decision by the Federal Reserve not to increase historically low interest rates, it seems all is pretty good in the Albert Lea area on the surface.

It’s time for Albert Lea to step up.

Such charities help those who are not as fortunate, who may be working but do not make an income to meet the basic needs for themselves and their families.

As a community, we need to step up, make contributions that we can afford, and make sure everyone has a happy new year.
