NRHEG’s Erickson earns 3rd place

ST. PAUL — NRHEG’s Todd Erickson took third place at 220 pounds Saturday at the Class A state wrestling tournament at the Xcel Center in St. Paul.
Erickson, ranked No. 2, won the third-place match with a 3-1 decision over No. 4 Tanner Templin of Blackduck/Cass Lake-Bena.
By pinning Wabasso/Red Rock Central’s Jared Welch, Todd Erickson of NRHEG qualified for the third-place match in 2:35.
Dillon Kubiatowicz also competed Saturday on Day 2 of the tournament. After posting a 7-3 decision in the first round of the consolation bracket over Jamaal Baird of Deer River on Friday night, Kubiatowicz was pinned on Saturday by No. 1 Jared Goldsmith of Chatfield in 2:38.
