First Team

Granger Kingland,
Lake Mills,

From 3-point land, no one in the state of Iowa had pinpoint accuracy like Granger Kingland. He buried 82-of-153 attempts for an average of 53.6 percent. Nate Paulus of West Hancock led Class 1A and the state with 84 and Jackson Lamb of Nodaway Valley was second in 1A and the state with 83. However, both Lamb and Paulus had averages below 40 percent from beyond the arc. Kingland was the only player in Iowa — all four classes — to make more than 60 3-pointers with an average better than 50 percent. Kingland wasn’t only a perimeter threat. He found success driving to the basket and was fourth in Class 2A with an average of 22.6 points per game, which also led the Tribune’s seven-team coverage area. He was third in the area with an average of 8.5 rebounds per game, fifth in the area with 20 blocks and tied with United South Central’s Nate Pederson for sixth in the area with an average of 1.7 steals per game.
