Albert Lea School District sent six teams to the Destination Imagination North Metro Regional Tournament in Blaine on March 21. The teams participated in the improvisational games challenge. For the improvisational games, teams of five to seven students in grades 4 through 8 choose four elements randomly. They then have one minute to prepare a skit and two minutes to present a skit. Teams receive points for their ability to blend the four elements into their skit. Teams also did an instant challenge to gain points. The Destination Imagination mission is to help students learn to collaboratively solve problems, be creative, flexible and respectful. All Albert Lea teams placed in the top three in their age groups. The district thanks Innovance and the Hawthorne Parent Teacher Organization for their support of the Destination Imagination program this year. — Provided
