Syverson Ram, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep service manager enjoys driving muscle cars

Dave DeVriendt, 60, is the Ram, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep service manager at Dave Syverson Inc. Mann, who lives in Owatonna, talked with the Tribune about some of his interests and his desire to be in the motoring industry.

Q: What interests you about automobiles?

A: It started with the performance of the muscle cars of the mid to late ’60s to early ’70s and now it’s the technology.

 

Q: What is your favorite car make and model?

A: The 1970 and 1971 Plymouth Cudas and 1968 to 1970 Dodge Chargers.

 

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The people. The customers and the great group of co-workers here at Syverson’s.

 

Q: Have you always wanted to work with automobiles?

A: Yes. I have always enjoyed the challenge of maintaining vehicles so they are more dependable and safe and to extend their longevity.

 

Q: What is your favorite memory working with automobiles?

A: In general helping people whose cars have broken down while on a family vacation.

 

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: On a farm about four miles north of Beaver Lake, an Ellendale/Geneva High School graduate.

 

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I own a couple of muscle cars I enjoy driving.

 

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Steak.

 

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.”
