Native named to Athletic Director’s Honor Roll

The University of Jamestown Athletic Department has announced that Bryn Woodside of Albert Lea, along with 156 other Jimmie student-athletes, have been named to the UJ Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

To achieve this status, student athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or have achieved a 3.4 grade point average during the 2015 fall semester.

A total of 17 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the fall semester with an additional 14 achieving at least a 3.9 grade point average.

 

Lake Mills students named
to dean’s list

Amelia Evenson and Tanner Jensen, both of Lake Mills, have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester at Buena Vista University. Students named to the dean’s list must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the semester, based on a 4.0 grade point system and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

 

Students put on dean’s list

Buena Vista University has released the names of students who were listed on the dean’s list for graduate and professional studies for terms one and two. Among those honored with the distinction were Amanda Lampman of Lake Mills, Elise Nyenhuis of Albert Lea, Brianna Paton of Lake Mills, Angela Sailor of Albert Lea, Justine Stenseniorude of Lake Mills and Karen Stenseniorude of Lake Mills. Each of the students attend Buena Vista University graduate and professional studies in the Mason City location.

Students named to the dean’s list must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the two terms, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

 

Area students honored

Taylor Martinez and Chelsea Petersen, both of Albert Lea, were named to the University of St. Thomas 2015 fall semester dean’s list. Students must post grade-point averages of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to be named to the dean’s list.

 

Alden native recognized

Jessica Price of Alden has been named to the dean’s list and explore center list of distinguished students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Price, a sophomore, is a pre-health major.

Qualification for the deans’ list and list of distinguished students varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and explore center. All qualifying grade-point averages are based on a four-point scale and a minimum of 12 or more graded semester hours. Students can be on the dean’s list for more than one college.

 

USF releases dean’s list

The University of Sioux Falls has released its dean’s list for fall semester 2015. Colleen Thompson of Clarks Grove was among those honored with the distinction. She is a double major studying entrepreneurial studies and media studies. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.

 

Area native recognized

Sarah Riecke of Hartland has been named to the UMass Dartmouth fall 2015 dean’s list. To be named to the dean’s list a student must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher out of a possible 4.0.

 

Area students graduate

Several area students were candidates for graduation after the fall 2015 session at South Dakota State University. Those students include Grady Ruble of Albert Lea who received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and biological sciences; Joshua Tonkin of Ellendale who received a bachelor’s of music education arts and sciences degree; Hannah Haroldson of Ellendale who received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and biological sciences; Scott Christenson of Emmons who received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and biological sciences; Kristen Ovrebo of Wells who received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and biological sciences with magna cum laude honors; and Kaitlyn Ovrebo who received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and biological sciences with magna cum laude honors.
