United Methodist Women

The meeting of the United Methodist Women opened with a piano selection by Merle Stensrud. The United Methodist pledge program was presented by Eileen Larson and Adean Turner of Just Three Circle. The women explained what funds the pledges support and distributed pledge cards for each circle.

President Jerry Horswell opened the business meeting with all members reading the United Methodist Women purpose statement. The minutes and correspondence for the December meeting, were read by Secretary JoAnn Seuser. January and February meetings had been canceled due to poor weather conditions.

The treasurer report was given by Ruth Vermedahl, followed by discussion for raising the price of the Upper Room magazine. Judy Kary reported that 10 sunshine cards were sent. Spiritual person Adean Turner shared a reading about Jesus’ last time with the disciples in the garden. Sharon Nelson, social action person, asked for prayers for the days before the upcoming presidential election. Carolyn Smith reminded members of the “One Great Hour of Sharing” offering, and the importance of donations. Smith also shared about the future of Emma Norton fundraiser.

Martha Circle was thanked for serving and Just Three circle was thanked for the program. Hope Circle served at the April 6 meeting.
