ROCHESTER — Academy Award-winning documentarian Ken Burns is working on a film about the Mayo Clinic.

The clinic confirmed in a press release that Burns has been working in the city this week on a film for PBS. He’s been working on it for more than a year. It’s expected to air in the fall of 2018.

A general description of the film is posted on the Better Angels Society website. The Better Angels is a foundation that supports Burns’ projects and raises funds for them. The description said the film will chronicle the history of the medical institution that has become “a worldwide model for collaborative patient care, research, and education.”
