I have read Mr. Overgaard’s letter twice, and I wholeheartedly agree with him. We have been used and betrayed!

I would love to see a group of doctors get together, purchase some land and start anew. The city of Albert Lea has a wonderful large lot where the packing plant had once been. They want it used, so give it to some doctors to come here and start a new clinic and hospital. It was done once and could be done again. If the city could take up funding for a splash pad that we would need when we have nothing left in this town, then they could certainly get donations to help build a clinic and hospital. I am sure we could get the surrounding communities to offer their donations.

The city could designate that property for a wonderful setup, and then after it was up and running they would collect revenue from taxes, water and sewer.

Wake up Albert Lea, look around. Where is our city headed? I think we, the people of this city, have been hoodwinked.
