Mick Hockinson of Albert Lea took the championship in the Minnesota State American Legion Golf Tournament at Green Lea Golf Course last weekend.

Hockinson won the title by defeating Nate Rasmussen 3 and 2 in the championship round after topping Lance Engebretson in the opening round and Tom Baas in the second round.

A total of 120 golfers competed in the two-day event, and Green Lea was selected as the host course for the 2000 State American Legion Tournament.

&uot;We’d like to thank all the committee members and volunteers who helped out with this year’s tournament,&uot; said Green Lea manager Jeff Elseth.
