A 700 series? Jeff Meyer had plenty of them.

He was more than ready for the next level. And he reached it in November.

Meyer bowled the first 800 series of his career during the Holiday Mixed Couples League at Holiday Lanes in Albert Lea.

Meyer, who’s been bowling for 15 years, had a previous best series of 797 last year, after first rolling 700 two years ago. Last season he had six 700 series and has seven already this year. His current average is 222 per game and his high previous average was 219.

The best game of Meyer’s memorable 803 series was the first, 280. He followed with a 278 game and finished with a 245.

&uot;I was excited, pumped up,&uot; said Meyer when asked to describe his feelings. &uot;It’s nice to be able to bowl consistent. I wish it would happen more often.&uot;

Meyer also has one more wish for the 1999-2000 bowling season.

&uot;I hope to get a 300 yet this year,&uot; said Meyer.&uot;Rings are nice.&uot;
