&uot;The score was not indicative of the way the game went,&uot; said Tigers coach Mike Miller.

The Faribault game was another story. The Tigers were every bit as dominant as the score indicates, taking a 5-0 lead early in the second period and putting it into running time early in the third. The 10th-seeded Falcons were never really in it.

Laura Hillman had three goals and an assist while Brittany Arendt had two goals and two assists to lead the offense. Amy Leach and Tessa Christensen also scored, with assists going to Sarah Johnson, Jasey Porter and Leach.

Less than 24 hours later the Tigers were back on the ice at Farmington, the Missota Conference champion which came in with a record of 17-5-1.

The Tigers started strong, taking a 1-0 lead at the 5:26 mark, but Farmington tied it just seconds later and went up 2-1 at the end of the first period. It was 3-1 after two.

&uot;They started to pull away in the third, and they got a few breaks,&uot; said Miller. &uot;Quite a few of their goals barely went in the net – they didn’t touch the back of the net. They were just in the right place at the right time. When you play those metro teams, it’s those little mistakes that will cost you, and they did. Farmington is a good team, definitely a No. 2 seed.&uot;

Miller said he’s already looking forward to next season, and with good reason. This year’s Tigers had only two seniors, Kelley Griffith and Sarah Johnson.
