&uot;We got good pitching, timely hitting, pretty good defense, and we ran the bases exceptionally well,&uot; said the Glenville-Emmons baseball coach.

But it did not add up to a victory. It added up to two.

The Wolverines were strong in all facets of the game while sweeping Rushford-Peterson in a doubleheader 4-3 and 7-3 at Emmons Friday.

It was the second doubleheader sweep of the week for the Wolverines, who improved their record to 7-4.

Senior left-hander Seth Stadheim handled the pitching chores in the first game, scattering seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

&uot;Seth has been struggling to get through the fourth inning, but he stayed in command today and pitched a nice game for us,&uot; said Toulouse.

The Wolverines had only one error defensively.

Matt Learn led the offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs including the game-winner in the fifth inning. Andrew Greibrok was 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored the winning run. Stadheim, Richie Mathis and Brandon Brackey contributed one hit apiece.

A four-run fifth inning was the difference in game two as the Wolverines outhit the Trojans 10-6.

Mitch Meier, a sophomore left-hander who had a complete-game victory Tuesday, was the winning pitcher in relief. In 2 1/3 innings, Meier gave up one earned run on two hits, striking out two. He improved his record to 3-1. Greibrok, who also pitched Tuesday, started and went 3 2-3 innings.

Brackey was 2-for-4, Learn 2-for-4 with an RBI. One hit apiece went to Stadheim, Mathis, Greibrok, Nick Flatness, Meier and Chase Rayman.

The Wolverines, 2-0 in Southeast Conference play, host Alden-Conger Tuesday at 4:15 at Emmons.
