The Glenville-Emmons softball coach is perfectly pleased with the Wolverines’ record. But then again, their record is perfect. The Wolverines are 4-0 after sweeping Mabel-Canton in doubleheader at Mabel Thursday.

It was the Southeast Conference opener for the Wolverines, who switched leagues after winning the Gopher Conference championship last spring.

The Wolverines scored in every inning in game one, outhitting Mabel-Canton 11-2.

Jenni Rayman was 2-for-2, Megan Avery 2-for-3, Jill Yost 2-for-4 and Katie Kimble 2-for-4. Leslie Delger, Jill Delger and Brooke Erickson had one hit each.

Jill Delger was the winning pitcher, striking out five and walking one in five innings. Avery fanned three and walked two in one inning on the mound.

The Wolverines, the home team in game two, scored five times in the bottom of the first and won it by the 10-run rule with five in the fifth.

Collecting two hits apiece were Jolene Peterson, Sheri Lair, Yost, Jill Delger and Kimble, with one each by Fallon Lorenzen, Avery and Rayman.

Jessica Claussen pitched 4 2/3 innings for the win. She struck out seven, walked one and gave up two hits.

The Wolverines travel to Rushford-Peterson for a 4:30 doubleheader Monday.
