NEW PRAGUE – It may not have been the smoothest of seasons for the Albert Lea High School girls’ golf team.

For three of the Tigers, though, the season is still going. They played well when it mattered most.

Hayley Westney, Kari Nelson and Brie Woitas all advanced from the opening round of the Section 1AA tournament at New Prague Wednesday.

The Tigers were 10th out of 15 schools, missing the cut for team competition.

Westney led the Tigers with a 101. Nelson and Woitas both shot 102. Amie Hartman rounded out the Tigers’ scoring with a 106. Shawna Mummert shot 120, Steph Williams 123.

Westney, Nelson and Woitas will play in the final round of section Tuesday at Cannon Falls.
