By then, the playing conditions were terrible and the order of finish was essentially decided.

The Albert Lea Tigers were a solid second – behind Faribault, which was a comfortable first – in a Big Nine girls’ golf triangular at Rochester’s Northern Hills Monday.

The Falcons had 183 strokes, the Tigers 204 and Rochester JM 224.

Kari Nelson and Shawna Mummert shared the top spot for the Tigers at 49. Hayley Westney and Amie Hartman shot 53, Brie Woitas 56, Steph Williams 62.

The Albert Lea junior varsity defeated Faribault 233-240.

Catie Rebelein led the JV with a 56, followed by Jackie Montag, 58; Angie Wagner, 59; and Laura Linnes, 60.

The Tigers travel to Fairmont today.
