To raise $15,000 for fireworks, the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce will hold its traditional fund raiser Friday. Chamber volunteers will take donations from motorists on the corner of Broadway and Main Street, in the Wells Fargo bank parking lot, said Chamber President Allen Pelvit.

Donors will have their name announced during a live broadcast on KATE radio from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments will also be available, he said.

The fireworks show, designed by Melrose Pyrotechnics from Clear Lake, will be shot from the municipal beach at dusk, July 4, Pelvit said.

&uot; They’re probably one of the better companies in the United States,&uot; he said.

Personal, corporate and organizational contributions to the fireworks fund are needed, Pelvit said. Donations can also be sent to: Fourth of July Fireworks Fund; c/o Community Foundation; 202 North Broadway; Albert Lea, 56007.
