Time will tell if that’s an advantage for the young Albert Lea High School squad. But coach Doug Christopherson sure hopes so.

With the first half of the scheduled 36-hole event rained out at Rochester’s Eastwood Golf Course Friday, the state qualifiers will be determined with one 18-hole tournament Tuesday at Bellwood Oaks near Hastings.

&uot;It will be a one-day tournament, a one-day shot,&uot; said Christopherson. &uot;Who knows? If we’re hot, we’re hot.&uot;

Christopherson and the Tigers made good use of their unexpected afternoon off Friday, traveling from Rochester to Hastings to walk through the Bellwood Oaks course.

The Tigers are scheduled to tee off Tuesday between 10:45 and 11:15 a.m., with results expected by 3:30. The first-place team and top five individuals not on that team advance to state.
