What happened wasn’t pretty. At least not for the visitors.

The Eagles team needed only five innings to dispatch Austin 14-0 at Hammer Field Tuesday night.

&uot;This was probably good for the kids,&uot; said coach Bruce Mullenbach. &uot;We’ve lost a lot of games by one or two runs, and last week we had a bunch of guys on vacation.&uot;

Josh Diaz pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out seven.

Kris Pleiss had three hits, Diaz two. Players with one hit apiece were Tony Dugstad, Jared Butler, Trent Miller, Will Petersen, Brett Frydenlund, Ben Meillier, Mike Minehart and Lucas Flugum.

It was the first league win of the season for the locals, who improved to 2-5 overall.
