NEW RICHLAND – It was yet another memorable season for the NRHEG girls’ track and field team.

For one girl, it isn’t finished.

Kalisha Anthony won the pole vault in the Section 2A meet, advancing to state. The freshman cleared 9-5.

The NRHEG girls finished 11th as a team, with 32.5 points. Minnesota Valley Lutheran won with 74, with Cedar Mountain second at 64.

The pole vault gold was one of two individual places for Anthony, who was also eighth in the 100-meter high hurdles.

The Panthers had four fifth places: Camille Kyte, 100; Kelsie Hansen, high jump; Nicole Lonning, shot put; Jenifer Brouwers, discus.

Emily Kofstad, Anthony, Ellen Johnson and Alison Anderson were sixth in the 4×200 relay while Jessica Brouwers, April Bayerkohler, Melissa Maurer and Michel Maurer took seventh in the 4×800. Kofstad, Anthony, Johnson and Michelle Dobberstein were eighth in the 4×100.

Lonning was eighth in the discus.

The NRHEG boys had one placewinner, David Kuglin seventh in the 100.

&uot;David had a solid season overall,&uot; said Panthers co-coach Mike Weber. &uot;It was nice to see him run in the finals of the 100.&uot;

Anthony will compete in the state meet Saturday at 1 p.m. at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
