Area farmers inspect a soybean plant loaded with aphids Wednesday at the annual Corn Plot Field Day off Co. Rd. 45 just south of Clarks Grove. Although the majority of the day’s event revolved around corn, Fritz Brietenbach, of the University of Minnesota Extension service, told participants what little is currently known about this insect, admitting that much is yet unknown. Several other speakers discussed corn markets, agriculture tax and policy changes and the upcoming farm bill.
