But a victory is more important.

The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva volleyball team got both, dominating Medford 3-0 in a Gopher Conference match at New Richland Thursday night. The Panthers won 15-7, 15-11, 15-4.

&uot;It seemed to be a successful night,&uot; said coach Jackie Schultz. &uot;Everyone was able to get playing time and contribute to the victory.&uot;

The Panthers improved to 3-0 in the conference and 7-2 overall.

The Panthers jumped out quickly in game one and, despite some shaky serving and passing, held on to win. They overcame a 6-2 deficit in the second game, starting the third with a 7-1 lead.

Elizabeth Schultz came on strong in game three, according to Coach Schultz, for the night totaling seven kills, three tip kills, five solo blocks and two point blocks.

Other statistical leaders: Erin Anderson, 16-for-17 serving, 11 service points, 13 set assists; Rachel Andree, 6-for-6 serving; Kelli Schlaak, 15-for-15 serving, nine points, three kills, three tip kills, 10 digs; Ellen Johnson, 11-for-12 serving, eight points, three kills, 11 digs; Megan Routh, four kills.
