GLENVILLE – Last week, coach Tony Barnack predicted a victory for the Glenville-Emmons football team against Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther.
On Wednesday, the Wolverines showed us why.
Glenville-Emmons dominated in the final game of the regular season, winning 45-26 at Glenville.
Senior co-captain Paul Kleven was the star, accounting for 31 points and amassing 469 all-purpose yards. He threw for 183 yards, ran for 49 yards, returned an interception 96 yards for a touchdown and made 10 tackles.
The Wolverines’ other co-captain, Nick Flatness, had nine tackles and three sacks, leaving him 1.5 sack away from the career school record.
Maurice Chessmore ran for a team-high 75 yards and had 69 yards on three pass receptions.
The Wolverines held the visitors to 43 rushing yards.
Defensive end Derek Lowe had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery. Jake Hansen had an interception and a fumble recovery.
The Wolverines, 2-6, open the nine-man playoffs Tuesday against an opponent to be determined.
