Connie Elaine Deml, age 55, of Owatonna, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at University Hospital, Minneapolis, of a lung disease.

She was born April 5, 1947, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Clifford and Velma (Wright) Nordland. Connie married Roger Deml in 1981. Connie was the owner of the Golden Sheers Beauty Salon for many years. Following her beauty salon operation, she worked with her husband at Deml Heating and The Fireplace Connection. Connie enjoyed traveling, knitting, and spending time at their lake home and with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Deml of Owatonna; daughter, Lori and Brad Suchanek of Owatonna; son, Keith and Brenda Klemmensen of Blooming Prairie; step sons: Brian and Paula Deml of Owatonna, and Scott and Carrie Deml of Waseca; step daughters: Denise and John Schroeder of Owatonna, and Coleen and Leif Thompson of Owatonna; 11 grandchildren; sisters: Geri Hansen of Faribault, and Audrey Gentz-Wolf of Stewartville; brother, Thayne and Becky Nordland of Albert Lea; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Nordland; and her mother, Velma Wright.

Visitation will be held at the Michaelson Funeral Home, 1930 Austin Rd., Owatonna, on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m., and on Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church from 10-11 a.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Interment will be in the Havana Cemetery.
