Fire destroyed an Emmons house Tuesday evening, and the the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Fire destroyed an Emmons house Tuesday evening, and the the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The Emmons Fire Department received a call at 6:23 p.m. describing flames shooting out of the house, which is across the street from a gas station. Firefighters responded and, despite high winds that complicated the situation, had the blaze under control by 8 p.m. They were, however, unable to save the house.

The home, at 154 Main Street, is owned by Allan Sathre, 31, of Emmons.

The fire marshal will be on the scene today to investigate the cause of the blaze.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
