It was a nice tune-up for the Albert Lea High School boys’ golf team.

The intensity will be much higher the next time out.

The Tigers, who host powerful Rochester Century on Monday, hosted Austin in their annual nonconference meet and swept the Packers at Green Lea Thursday.

&uot;It was a nice day because everyone got a chance to play,&uot; said Tigers coach Doug Christopherson. &uot;We do this every year with Austin and it works out very well.

&uot;Once again, the scores suffered because of the conditions. It was windy and cold out there.&uot;

The Tigers’ varsity won 323-329 for 18 holes.

Adam Boelter led with a 77. Dan Breuer shot a 79, Ryan Thompson 82, Jon Breuer 85.

Albert Lea’s junior varsity won 333-398. Adam Elseth and Josh Tubbs led the Tigers at 80 and 82, respectively.

The C-squad won 358-448. Matt Tubbs shot 84, Dan Moen 90.

Century comes to town Monday for a rescheduled 3:30 p.m. dual meet at Green Lea.

&uot;We’re looking forward to that one already,&uot; said Christopherson. &uot;We had better bring our A game. Century is very, very good and we’ll have to be up to the challenge.&uot;
