The memorial service for Gladys Christensen Hillstrom Nelson, age 93, was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Crosstown Covenant Church, Minneapolis. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.

Gladys passed away May 9, 2001, at the Linden Health Care Center in Stillwater where she had resided since 1993.

Gladys was born on Dec. 25, 1908, to Chris and Kate Christensen, So. Broadway, Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and was employed by Interstate Power Co.

Gladys and her family had lived in Minneapolis for many years.

She is survived by her son, Steven Hillstrom (Suzanne) of St. Louis Park; daughter, Marcia Nelson (Bill Heaney) of Stillwater; and grandchildren: Tyler and Tracy Hillstrom, Peter (Marisela) and Eric Hansen, Erin Heaney and Mehgen Heaney-Grier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and sisters, and husbands, Vernon Hillstrom and Peter Nelson.

Happiness was being friend and family of Gladys.
