She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1952, and then from the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis. She married Roger D. Boelke on Nov. 8,1953, in Albert Lea. They lived in Waco, Texas, for three years, and then returned to make Albert Lea their home.

Zetta had worked in the laboratory at Naeve Hospital/ALMC from October 1961 until her retirement in December 1999. At the time of her retirement she had been serving as laboratory director. Before her retirement she had been active in the Clinical Laboratory Management Association, Mayo Medical Regional Supervisors, and the Southern Minnesota Supervisors.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she had led and served on many church committees and women’s groups. She had been an active participant and volunteer in the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary. Before Roger’s death in 1992 they enjoyed many camping trips together. She loved to travel, especially to Mexico and the south where there are beaches and warm sunshine. Gardening (especially flowers), birdwatching, reading, and observing all nature had to offer, especially sunrises and sunsets were among things she enjoyed. It was no secret that her family was what she treasured most.

She will be greatly missed by her two sons: Craig Boelke and his wife Diane of Robbinsdale, and Brian Boelke and his wife Dawn of Onalaska, Wis.; three grandchildren: Chad Boelke and his wife Rosie and their children, Kelsey and Alexis, of Crystal, Minn., and Troy Boelke and Heather Boelke, both of Onalaska, Wis.; one sister, Marvyl Anderson of Albert Lea; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; and two sisters: Erliss Anderson and Mavis McAllister.

Taken from us all to quickly, Zetta’s warm embracing spirit will be missed by all.
