Cleon M. Baer, age 79, of La Mesa, Calif., died Sunday, June 2, 2002.

He was born on May 27, 1923, in Alden, and was a merchandiser for John Lenore Co. Mr. Baer served in the merchant marine during World War II. He was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Bowling League and Lemon Grove Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Baer; daughters: Janice Spooner and Nancy Pearl of El Cajon, Calif., Debra Malovic of La Mesa, Calif., and Maria Jackson of Indio, Calif.; son, Alan of La Mesa, Calif.; sisters: Arvella Steele of Albert Lea, and Beatrice Burmesker of San Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Viewing is 9:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Lemon Grove Lutheran Church, 2055 Skyline Drive, Lemon Grove, Calif.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Entombment will be in the Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, Calif.
