Jay Granville Fenwick Jr., age 55, of La Porte, Texas, died Sunday, June 2, 2002.

He was born Oct. 21, 1946, to Jay G. Fenwick Sr. and Claire (Lamontagne) Fenwick in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

He graduated from Mundelein High School, Mundelein, Ill., in 1964, and attended Upper Iowa University.

He served his country in Vietnam from 1969-70.

He was employed by Phoenix Air Group in Cartersville, Ga. He worked with the 111th Fighter Squadron at the Texas Air Guard, Ellington Field, and numerous other Fighter Squadrons across the United States. He was equally proud to work with the NATO pilots throughout Europe. He accrued many medals while in the Army, and numerous letters of commendation throughout his flying career.

Mr. Fenwick is survived by his wife, Cheryl Fenwick; sons: Jay Granville Fenwick III of La Porte, Texas, and Scott Fenwick and wife Amy of Houston, Texas; parents: Jay and Claire Fenwick of Albert Lea; sister, Janet Fredericks and husband Charles of Woodstock, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

His last flight was into the arms of God.
