Memorial services for Katherine Schneider, 89, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. Elder Timothy Hellie will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the services at the chapel.

Katherine died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at her home in Albert Lea.

Katherine Schneider was born Dec. 2, 1912, to George and Marie Kathrina (Braun) Usinger in Mueller, Russia. She came to the United States in July of 1926. On May 30, 1932, Katherine was united in marriage to Alex Schneider in St. Paul. She had lived in Rochester for many years before moving to Albert Lea 2-1/2years ago. Katherine had been an active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the past 60 years. She enjoyed crocheting, handwork, and baking.

Survivors include children Harold E. Schneider and his wife Darlene of Albert Lea, Arnold G. Schneider and his wife Nancy of Boston, and Marlene Carney and her husband Steve of Wilmington, N.C.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and half-sister Rose Abdella of Pine City, Minn.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 2 sisters, Marie and Emilia.
