Kathryn Warmka, 90, Easton

Funeral services for Kathryn Warmka, 90, of Easton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2002 at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, with the Rev. Thomas Cook and the Rev. Tom Barrett officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today, Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Kathryn Warmka died Thursday, June 13, 2002 at her home in Easton.

She was born Dec. 22, 1911, the daughter of John and Helen (Paul) Schimek in Barber Township, Faribault County. On Jan. 30, 1935 she married Louis B. Warmka in Easton.

Kathryn was a lifelong resident of the Easton area. She attended Mount Carmel School and was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the MCCW and St. Mary’s Honor Court and was a rosary leader. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, watching the birds, quilting, crocheting afghans and spending time with her family.

She is survived by 11 children, James and wife Marian Warmka of Wells, Helen and husband Sylvester Botzet of Osakis, Margaret and husband the Rev. Thomas Barrett of Little Canada, Rosemary Cavadini of Bangor, Wis., Kathleen and husband Norbert Wilder of Albert Lea, Rita and husband John Haley of Waseca, Tom and wife Cheryl Warmka of Easton, Ed Warmka of Wells and special friend Barb Fraley, John and wife Sue Warmka of Grand Meadow, Ken and wife Sherry Warmka of Easton, and Dan and wife Deb Warmka of Easton; 76 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Wade of Fairmont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis, in 1995; a daughter, Mary Ann, in infancy; five brothers and two sisters; a great-grandson, Jacob Botzet; and a son-in-law, Don Cavadini.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
