Funeral services for Ron Dale Elvebak, age 44, formerly of Kiester, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Chapel in Wells. The Rev. John Henriksen will officiate. Visitation will be at one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the West Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in Thompson, Iowa

He died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at the University of California, Hillcrest Hospital, in San Diego, Calif.

He was born June 22, 1958, the son of Rodney and Violet (Thorland) Elvebak in Northfield.

Ron graduated from Kiester High School in 1977. He was the senior class president and an honor student. He then attended the University of Minnesota for two years and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with emphasis in Business and Information Technology from Metropolitan State University. He later completed courses to obtain a Real Estate License and a license for Real Estate Appraisal. He worked as a Residential/ Commercial Real Estate Appraiser both in the Twin Cities and in San Diego. Ron had a deep sense of family and home. It was important to him to keep informed of the various happenings, accomplishments and events in all of his relatives’ lives. Home was of utmost importance to Ron &045; a place to design, improve, garden and decorate – but mostly as his oasis to share with loved ones, friends and his beloved terriers. He appreciated all types of music, but especially enjoyed country music and music from the 1970s. Ron was an avid student of life; well-read and educated in many areas of interest. His favorite topics included American Presidents, automobiles and their industry, world events, politics, architecture, interior design, landscaping and had plans to improve his culinary skills upon recovery.

He is survived by his partner of 18 years, Timothy Kazwell of San Diego, Calif.; parents: Violet Thorland and Rodney Elvebak; one sister: Carla Hansen; one brother, Dale and wife Charlotte Elvebak of Albert Lea; nephews and nieces: Wendy Hansen, Rachel Elvebak and Spencer Elvebak; and extended family members: James Chafee, Julie Elvebak, Connie Goossen, John Shephard and family, Susan Kelly and family and Patty Meyer and family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Emma and Richard Thorland; paternal grandparents: Edith and Leonard Elvebak; two uncles, one aunt and three infant cousins.

Beloved partner, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. You are deeply missed.
