Funeral services for Tillie Oldenkamp,

84, of Oakland will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Oakland Lutheran Church. The Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Interment will be in Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2002, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Tillie died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

Tillie Oldenkamp was bom May 4, 1918, to Haring (Henry) and Sieberrige (Sadie Dykstra) Bremer in Ocheyedan Township, Melvin, Iowa. She attended rural schools in North Dakota. On Dec. 15, 1937, Tillie was united in marriage to Bert H. Oldenkamp in Marion, N.D. The couple lived on a farm in the Oakland area for 37-1/2years. Tillie worked at the Minnesota Sheriff’s Boys Ranch from 1966-1978. She was a member of the Oakland Lutheran Church, the church circle and WELCA. Tillie also enjoyed reading, quilting at the church, and the neighborhood Bible study.

Survivors include three daughters: Sadie Andersen and her husband Kenneth of Lyle, Lillian Johnson and her husband Neil of Sargeant, and Evelyn Murray and her husband Jeffrey of Worthington; three sons, Herman Oldenkamp and his wife Karen of Oakland, Henry Oldenkamp and his wife Barbara of Oakland, and Howard Oldenkamp and his wife Gayle of Austin; four sisters, Mary Van Bruggen of Valley City, N.D., Alice Flim of Albert Lea, Florence Thompson of New Richland, and Sadie DeJong and her husband Ed of Arizona City, Ariz.; five brothers, Henry Bremer of Ellendale, Pete Bremer of Eugene, Ore., Jeppe Bremer and his wife Charlotte of Geneva, John Bremer and his wife Lu of Seattle, Wash., and Sidney Bremer and his wife Audrey of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter, and a son-in-law.
