It only takes one person to make a difference in many people’s lives. Earl Christensen is a man who has helped people for more than 60 years.

In the 1940s Christensen joined the J.M. Snyder Chapter of Wisemen, a service club dedicated to serving the YMCA. He has been helping out with Y events and activities for most of his life. He sells Christmas trees every year in Albert Lea. He supervised the elementary children of Albert Lea when they were building a playhouse to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. If there is a Y event occurring you probably will see him there.

Christensen, a native of Albert Lea and a veteran of World War II, said has been interested in helping people for as long as he can remember. He and his wife Irene spent two years in Sudan, Africa doing missionary work.
