High School. Then she attended normal teacher training to teach in a country school.

She then caught the eye of Gerald Beckjorden of Leland, Iowa, and they were married May 24, 1934. They lived in these areas until 1939-’40 when all of the Beckjorden family moved to St. Paul.

Three children were born during this time: Donna Cornick (Roger), Nathan Beckjorden (Rosemary) and H. William Beckjorden (Frances).

In 1954 they moved to Albert Lea but after one year they decided they were big city people and moved back to St. Paul.

Alice worked as a salesperson for Montgomery Ward Co. from 1952 until retirement in 1976. She then moved to a high rise for seniors until coming to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Albert Lea for 10 years. After a fall, she has resided at Good Samaritan Center of Albert Lea until illness July 10.

She is survived by two children: daughter, Donna Cornick (Roger); son, H. William Beckjorden (Frances); eight grandchildren: Patricia VanRyswyk, Ronald Beckjorden, Randall Beckjorden (Sherry), Ann Hultgren (Lon), Caren Oster (Kurt), Debbie Gysbers (Tim), Bill Beckjorden (Amy), and Dan Beckjorden; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Blanche Wogen (Mervin) of Albert Lea, Josie Farber (Izadore) of Illinois, and Gladys Schoneman (Roger) of Clear Lake, Iowa.
